Daniel Gigstead of Shade Of The Tree Counseling
Shade of the Tree is a state licensed non-profit facility which was founded with one goal in mind, to provide Substance Abuse Services to those who need them. Daniel opened his practice in Spirit Lake five years ago to treat substance abuse.
10% of population struggles with addictions which means 1,600 people in Dickinson county are chemically dependent on drugs or alcohol. 
He  received his Bachelors degree from The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN while graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Psychology and Theology. In 2008 Daniel Graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Masters Degree in Psychology. He is currently certified in the State of Iowa as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC).and has experience in working in both outpatient and residential facilities. July 28, 2015 Daniel Celebrated 15 years of Recovery from Drugs and Alcohol.
