Joan McCulloch with the Dickinson County Endowment Fund spoke to Iowa Great Lakes Rotary on Wednesday, August 10. The fund is a non-profit, tax-exempt foundation established in 2005 with gaming dollars and private contributions. The mission of the organization is to enhance the quality of life and promote economic vitality in Dickinson County by encouraging philanthropy and providing financial assistance for projects and programs that benefit local residents. Each year, 75% of earnings are given out as grants and 25% is endowed for the future. This past year, 27 non-profits will receive grants from DCEF.
