Rod Quanbeck from Okoboji Lutheran Camp Speaks to Rotary

Rod Quanbeck, Executive Director of the Okoboji-Ingham Lutheran Bible Camp spoke to Rotary on Wednesday, May 23. Rod is a Certified Camp Director and shared some details about the camp with Rotary:
- Camp started in its current West Okoboji site in 1924 (next to Arrowhead Beach)
- Camp has 20 year round staff
- 75 staff during summer (from all over US and international)
- Operate 2 camps - one in Okoboji and Ingham Lake
- In 2011 had restoration projects - cabins and chapel
- Chapel Service 9:30 every Sunday am
- Campfire Ring dedication will be held in 3 weeks (look for details in paper)
- Focus is "Restoration of Live"
- 17 Youth camps (5-600 kids)
- 6 Family camps
- Summer Day Camps
- Adult retreats
- Elderversity (June 4-5)
- New in 2012: paintball course, banana boats, batting cages, gaga ball, geocaching
