Rotary Welcomes New Member!

Liz Sandy,was recently inducted into our Iowa Great Lakes Rotary membership. Liz's name was proposed by Aileen Schacherer. 

Liz Sandy was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, however spent the majority of her childhood in Ames, IA where she was raised a Cyclone! After graduating from Ames High School, she went on to receive her Bachelors degree from Iowa State University in Hotel, Restaurant, Institution Management. 

After college, Liz & her husband, Johnny Sandy, were married here at the lakes and moved to Minneapolis where Johnny finished law school and Liz worked for the Hyatt as an event planner. 

Johnny and Liz recently moved back to the Lakes at the end of last summer as Johnny joined the family law firm and the two could be closer to family. Liz decided to give up her career in the hospitality industry and found a career that fits her personality well and was also inspired by her grandmother.  Liz's grandma opened the first RE/MAX franchise in the state of Iowa 25 year ago, thus she chose to follow in her footsteps and has been with the local RE/MAX since last fall.
