Chris Holck Shares China Experiences with Rotary
Posted by Kathryn Fahy
Chris Holck shared his experiences teaching English in China with the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary on Wednesday, November 17. Chris works with an organization called ELIC - English Language Instruction in China - which is based in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
The group takes people age 50+ to China to teach conversational English. People, ages 45-65, spend 5 weeks in China working primarily with teachers of all levels to enhance their English. English is mandatory in China - many of the teachers (especially in the primary grades) are learning English yet themselves. Chris chared a slide show of photos of his trip with 7 people to Beijing and a smaller town not far from there. Chris' wife Kathy also accompanied him on the trip and shared some of her experiences as well.
