Teresa Ball, a 2005 Iowa Great Lakes Rotary scholarship recipient, spoke to Rotary at their regular noon meeting on December 23, 2009.

Teresa is currently a student at the University of Iowa. She is a 2005 graduate of Okoboji High School and now a fifth year senior at the University of Iowa majoring in Integrative Physiology (a fancy way of saying Exercise Science) and Global Health with a minor in Spanish. Her Integrative Physiology has an emphasis area in Athletic Training. As far as post-graduation in May 2010, She's been accepted to the Master's of Public Health program at New York University, but is still weighing her options by applying to other MPH Programs. She is also exploring the Master's of Science in Orthopaedic Nursing, as well as thinking of volunteering with CURE International a program working with clubfoot children in developing countries for a year and then applying to medical school. Some of her activities at the University of Iowa have been being an athletic training student with Iowa Football and all the other University athletic teams, the Ponseti International Association Ponseti Races Executive Director where she raises funds for the training of the Ponseti Method worldwide, and a Stanley Grant recipient providing her with a one month paid grant to study the effects of diabetes in St. Lucia.
