John Wills
Thank you to our State Representative John H. Wills who presented a program to our club.
Our senate looks like it will turn republican... if 2 seats are filled there will be a tie; If 3 seats are filled the republican party will have control of both the House and Senate. Here are some of the topics he touched upon:
Working on budget - Economy is hurting due to farm economy but will not have to cut programs. Growth will happen just will be slower.
School funding is an issue with lower enrollment statewide, however Dickinson County is doing ok. Currently each student in the state of iowa is $6,400 per student.
Our state faces some Medicaid issues due to Managed Health care.... Service providers not being paid as quickly as needed.
