Shelby Duis Playground Annual Cleanup:
Fellow Rotarians met on Wednesday, June 1 at Shelby Duis Playground located at Elinor Bedell State Park on East Lake Okoboji. After an hour or so of pulling weeds and grooming the playground, it was  tidied  up  for the many visitors who enjoy the park! Thanks to Tom Fuhrman who organized the annual project.
In 2001, the playground was built through fundraising efforts of the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club, spearheaded by then IGL Rotarian Alex Den Herder.
The playground honors the memory of a Spirit Lake, Iowa toddler who died from abuse.  The playground is designed for younger children — like Shelby.
Pictured are some of the members who pitched in along with a park visitor, John Whitehead and his children who also joined us!
